Blow guns and taps
Guns for blowing off work surfaces, objects and machines make your cleaning work easier and help you get rid of unwanted dirt. But to think that all blow guns are the same or similar would be a big mistake. And it is precisely for this reason that in many workplaces we encounter inappropriately selected types of pistols, the use of which can often endanger you and your fellow workers.
How to choose a blow gun and a blow cock?
- choose the right design - a metal body is more durable, can withstand falls on the floor and rough handling, while a plastic body does not have to be cold at low temperatures
- choice of nozzle - the cheap versions of the guns do not have to have an exchangeable nozzle, with an exchangeable nozzle you can change the shape of the jet, reduce noise or protect yourself against flying dirt
(we have a selection of nozzles here: Nozzles for blow guns) - choosing the right lever - unnecessarily high air pressure, where you can literally feel the resistance of the gun towards your hand when you press the lever is a common problem in workplaces, dirt is then spread all around, so think about whether to choose a gun with a potentiometer/regulator
(you can find the range of guns with flow control here: guns with flow control) - air pressure regulation - if you don't want a pressure regulator directly on the gun, you can connect a miniature pressure regulator designed for direct mounting on the blow gun inlet(we offer a range of miniature regulators here: BLP pressure regulators)
Nozzle types for blow guns
- basic nozzle (centrally located opening, uniform flow)
- extended nozzle (straight or curved end, suitable for blowing dirt out of hard-to-reach holes - usually holes and pockets after milling)
- safety nozzle with air shield (side drilling splits the beam and creates a protective air shield, increasing air consumption)
- soundproof nozzle (inside the nozzle there is a coiled bronze insert that slows down part of the airflow to reduce the noise from 90 to 70 dB)
- regulated nozzle (allows you to set the ideal flow rate for specific applications, thus reducing air consumption costs)
- flat nozzle (for process blowing in industrial applications, the stream is divided into several channels)
- injector nozzle (a nozzle with extreme power by sucking and pulling air from the surrounding atmosphere)

Spray gun
Spraying paint with compressed air is an effective tool for achieving beautiful, colourful surfaces with high spray quality. The system of spraying paint with the help of a compressor is simple - the compressed air produced by the compressor enters the spray gun through a hose, where it is mixed with the paint from a container that is part of the gun and then discharged from the gun through a nozzle. It is a precise solution for both hobbyists and professional painters.
Classification of spray guns by pressure
- high-pressure guns - common guns that have a higher dust content due to the high air pressure at the outlet
- low pressure guns - lower dust content due to lower outlet pressure, high air consumption
- HVLP gun - lowest pressure, high efficiency, lowest dust, but also high air consumption
*HVLP - "High Volume Low Pressure" - high power but low pressure
What nozzle diameter should I choose?
- For priming - guns with nozzles from 1.2 to 1.3 mm
- For work with lacquers, acrylic paints and finishing - nozzle from 1.4 to 1.5 mm
- Primers with large working grain and acrylic type 2K - nozzle from 1.5 to 1.7 mm

Blasting gun, or sandblasting gun
There is no difference between blasting and sandblasting. These pistols are the same and fit mainly for removing old coatings, paints, but also corrosion and other unwanted coatings and deposits, for example, before painting, when you need to unify the surface. So if you don't want to do manual work, we recommend connecting a blast gun to the compressor.
Facts to consider when making your choice:
- guns for larger grains do the job faster, but not as much detail
- small grain guns are suitable for detailed work, you can work better with small areas
- all guns create dust and mess, but you have unlimited working space compared to a sandbox
- if you work with the blast gun frequently, it is advisable to have a capable ventilation system in the workshop
- replacement nozzles are standard
